Kate Lyon is Special Counsel at Dentons and a member of the firm’s Venture Technology Group focusing on emerging growth technology companies. She represents venture-backed companies as well as investment funds in her role. In addition to her practice at Dentons, she is a board member of a venture-backed startup that she co-founded and is a manager of an Iowa-based investment fund.

Before joining Dentons, she was General Counsel of a multinational manufacturing company, where she advised the board on all matters related to corporate growth, financing, employment, and product.

Kate graduated from Iowa State University; with MS and JD from Drake University. She spends her free time mountain biking, attending Cyclone sporting events, and traveling with her spouse and three children.
